Two Russian waltz songs recorded on a 78RPM vynil, released in 1953. The first song is performed by the ensemble of naval forces, the second one by the brass band of the DoD of Soviet Union. I'm pretty sure I heard a variant of Над волнами last week during a ballroom dance party, which means it's not that obscure after all. I found a copy of this album in our family collection, but the disc was so badly damaged that the SNR was practically below zero (conversely, the noise-to-signal ratio was pretty high). Luckily there was a torrent on Rutracker - where else? It took three long months for a seeder to pop up, and I'm seeding it ever since. The original version had only one channel (well, no shit). I had to expand the audio channels from mono to joint stereo because aya naively assumes every audio file is stereo and will encode garbage on those that aren't. Oh, and I'd be delighted if someone could explain to me how is it possible to play a 78 RPM rated vynil on a standard 45 RPM turntable. The instructions on the vynil cover told me to do this, but all I could hear was the raw melody interposed on a loud hum, and a lot of noise.
